On behalf of the Humphreys County Board of Education, welcome to the Humphreys County School System Website.

The middle Tennessee area is easily accessible from Interstate 40, Exit 143, which accesses Hwy. 13 and leads north to the county seat of Waverly. U.S. Highway 70 runs through the three major cities in the county. Waverly, the largest city and center of the county is flanked on the east by McEwen, which is rich in Irish heritage, and New Johnsonville on the west, which is rich in Civil War history.

Our School System serves students in Humphreys County, grades pre-k-12. We boast that we have 100% highly qualified status with No Child Left Behind.  Class sizes are small, especially at elementary level.  At the High School level we encourage dual enrollment with the local Community College.  Humphreys County is a great place to receive an education.  Your children will feel safe and well prepared for the world they encounter after they leave our School System.

Educating today's young people to be tomorrow's productive citizens is a big task, and we know it is a job that involves the entire community. We believe public education is a partnership between students, teachers, parents, administrators, school staff, the elected Board of Education, and the public at large. Our goal is to provide the best education possible to each of our students, and we know that stakeholder involvement and public support are essential if we are to meet the many challenges ahead of us.

We have designed this site to answer the most common questions we receive from parents, job applicants, employees, and interested citizens. I hope you will find the information on these pages to be helpful and relevant. In the event you can't find the answer to your particular question, feel free to contact the person or department that can best assist you.

Thank you for having an interest in Humphreys County Schools and for taking the time to visit our website. We sincerely appreciate your support.
